This particular area of County Waterford is called the Deise (or Decies, but both are pronounced Day-shur). Its inhabitants are particularly warm, generous, tolerant and laid back and the local harbour town of Dungarvan has a very relaxed and happy atmosphere where complete strangers will greet you on the street. Additionally, the Ring peninsula on Dungarvan bay is one of the 6 Gaeltacht locations in Ireland, where Irish is spoken as the first language. So it is quite common to hear Irish being spoken in and around Dungarvan So all in all we reckon that you've stumbled on one of the best kept secrets of Ireland - the Deise, with its stunning coastline and beaches (and we haven't even mentioned them yet!), mountains, rivers, valleys, loughs, music and song. The only thing it lacks is hordes of visitors - because they don't know it's here! We hope that you will come and stay in our little cottage and that the Deise fulfils all your expectations.
DOGS Do we allow dogs? Only under close control and by prior arrangement We know that dog owners who bring their dogs on holiday are responsible and caring, so our requirements are basically what you'd expect to do with your dog anyway! 1. Outside the house, Keep your dog under close control, on the lead. The fields nearby usually have sheep in them and a small dog could get through the fence, or a barking dog could frighten them 2. Inside the house. Dogs should be housetrained 3. Dog care Dogs must never be left alone in the cottage at any time 4. Security deposit This is increased to 150 euros. We will go round the cottage with you
both before and after your stay to check for any damage such as scratched
doors or soiled furnishings. |
